Formed on Memorial Day in 1986, the Goo Goo Dolls released their first album/CD (Mercenary Records) in 1987. The year they did a two month, 36 city tour which took them across the US and Canada. They have also done numerous dates on the East Coast and just returned from a short New England tour.

The band just signed with Metal Blade Records (division of Capitol) and their second album will be released in February, backed by a company financed video and tour. Along with Lance Diamond, they will be releasing a Goo Goo Dolls remake of a traditional Christmas song before the holiday. Even with a national recording contract, their goal is "to be able to pay our rent from our music."
