The Goo Goo Dolls Bring a Must-See Concert to PNC Pavilion!

You would have had to be living under a rock for the past 20 years if you haven’t heard a Goo Goo Dolls song on the radio or as part of the soundtrack of one of your favorite blockbuster films. And while their multiple number 1 hits, Grammy nominations and smash hit “Iris” are all testaments to their amazing recording ability, you haven’t heard the Goo Goo Dolls until you’ve heard them live. The band has made Cincinnati their temporary rehearsal studio for the past couple of days and let me tell you, they sound amazing live. I’ve been to my fair share of their concerts over the years, being a fan since the 90’s and the Dizzy Up The Girl (which gave us “Iris”, “Black Balloon”, “Broadway” and more) days, but I am especially excited to see them tomorrow night at PNC Pavilion. The band could not sound better in rehearsals. And for there being a heat index of 105 degrees, that’s really saying something. Tomorrow night the weather will be cooler and the three days of rehearsing after months of planning their summer tour will be complete. For a sneak-peak check out this photo, posted on the band’s Facebook and Twitter pages, of the new summer setup.

If coming to an amazing night of music just isn’t enough, don’t worry, we’ve got plenty of other things to entice you! First, all concert goers will be treated to a FREE Cook Out presented by Blue Grass Quality Meats and Kroger at the Time Warner Cable Party Plaza. The Cook Out begins at 6:00pm and runs until 7:30pm so be sure to get here early for some great free food. Live entertainment will also be provided in the Plaza by local acoustic duo, Rucca. Additionally, the Goo Goo Dolls will be hosting a food drive from 5:00pm-6:30pm at the main gate. All donations will benefit Cincinnati’s Drop Inn Center. Whoever donates the most items will win a meet & greet with the band! Lastly, ( I know, right? How could there be more?) Rewind 94.9FM will broadcast the entire concert LIVE as well as re-air selections of  songs after the concert for the drive home.

Tickets are still available for tomorrow night’s concert with special guest Michelle Branch. Get your tickets HERE or pay no service fees if you purchase at our Box Office. Specially priced 4-packs are still available through today only. Doors open at 6:00pm and the concert begins at 7:30pm. Finally, check out this great interview with Goo Goo Dolls’ frontman, John Rzeznik, from CityBeat to get you even more pumped for the show. See you tomorrow night at PNC Pavilion!
