Goo Goo Dolls, Will.i.am headlining Birds Nest at Phoenix Open

The Goo Goo Dolls and Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas will be the headline entertainment at the 2012 Coors Light Birds Nest during the PGA’s Waste Management Phoenix Open.

The Birds Nest is the 21-and-over entertainment tent next to the golf tournament -- which is traditionally the most well-attended golf event on the PGA Tour. The Birds Nest is opens on Feb. 1 and continues through Feb. 4.

The golf tournament, sponsored by The Thunderbirds, will be held at the TPC Scottsdale from Feb. 2 through Feb. 5.

The Goo Goo Dolls will take the stage at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2. They will rock the crowd with a range of their Top Ten hits, including “Black Balloon,” “Name,” “Slide,” “Stay With You,” and “Sympathy.”

Will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas, is performing a special DJ set on Friday, Feb. 3 at 8 p.m. He is considered one of popular music’s top producers and has collaborated with artists including Justin Timberlake, John Legend and Mariah Carey. Last month, he released his first single “T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)” featuring Jennifer Lopez and Mick Jagger.

Other entertainers scheduled to perform include:

• National recording artist Kelley James will open for the Goo Goo Dolls at 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 2. James’ music features acoustic guitars and hip-hop beats. He was a part of O.A.R.’s 31-city tour this summer and just released his album “The Recent Future.”

• Southern California-based 80s cover band Flashback Heart Attack will performs on Saturday, Feb. 4.

• Video DJ Roonie G is also scheduled to perform in the tent and will offer up nightly shows that feature music, videos, film footage, and comedy shorts in an experimental mixed-media presentation.
