The Goo Goo Dolls are the latest musical act to duet with Elmo, the muppet star of "Sesame Street." This week, the modern rock act will team up with Elmo to perform "Pride," a reconfigured rendition of their track "Slide," during a taping of "Sesame Street." The show will air early next year.

In other Goo Goo Dolls news, the trio will be on the bill for MTV's New Year's Eve Millennium Bash in New York's Time Square on Dec. 31. Other performers scheduled to appear at the event are Christina Aguilera, Blink 182, and Bush. As part of the promotion, the Goo Goo Dolls will fly on MTV's "Fly2K" plane and greet contest winners at an as-yet-unconfirmed location. Earlier in the month, the act will tour overseas military installations, including a gig onboard the USS John F. Kennedy.
