Record-breaking weekend flooding in the Nashville area caused rockers Goo Goo Dolls to temporarily postpone their May 2 Ryman Auditorium concert. Not ones to disappoint their fans, the postponement was quickly followed by the announcement that the Buffalo-born alt-rockers would simply delay their Nashville gig by a single day.

While a number of downtown businesses will remain closed in the wake of the storm, Nashville's Mother Church of Country Music, will open the doors tonight to welcome alt-rock's The Goo Goo Dolls back to Nashville as they stop in Music City with their Something For The Rest of Us tour.

Named for the group's upcoming June 8 release--their 9th studio album, their Something For The Rest of Us tour kicked off just last month in Indianapolis, IN. Last week, lead singer Johnny Rzeznik, bassist Robby Takac and drummer Mike Malinin played the Beale Street Music Festival in nearby Memphis, TN. Following tonight's rescheduled Nashville show, the group will play a third Tennessee date in Knoxville Tuesday night before heading to Louisville, Kentucky and then continuing on their cross-country tour throughout the end of July.

Tonight's Ryman show marks the first time The Goo Goos have played Nashville since their August 21 2006 performance at the now-defunct Starwood Amphitheater during their Let Love In Tour.

For anyone who purchased tickets for the original May 2 date, but can't attend tonight's rescheduled show, refunds will be issued from now until Friday, May 7 at 5pm. Initially the Ryman announced that refunds would be available at the on-site box office located just inside the main lobby of the historic venue at 116 5th Avenue North in downtown Nashville, until noon on Monday, May 3. That deadline was extended until May 7 due in part to phone line problems resulting from the flooding.

A limited number of tickets for tonight's show remain available fro $35. CLICK HERE to purchase tickets, or for more information. Tonight's concert will begin at 7:30pm, with special guest Bryce Avary opening the show with his solo-project, The Rocket Summer.
