He’s back where it all began.

Before Ryan Star was touring the country, getting the attention of Madonna and Atlantic Records, he was performing with his Candlewood Middle School band. Since then, Star has certainly followed through with the implication of his name, and will return home on Nov. 12 and 15 to open for the Goo Goo Dolls at the Paramount Theater in Huntington.

Star met Johnny Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls in a studio while working on his second album for Atlantic Records, a follow up to his latest “11:59” album. Now he is touring with the legendary band.

The performance will likely be a particularly nostalgic one for him, since he will be reconnected with his home.

"11:59 has my roots all over it," Star said in an earlier interview with Patch of the album that scored the hits "Breathe" and "Start a Fire". "I love playing it every night. It reminds me of Dix Hills."

Star announced on Twitter that he “Can’t wait for the Long Island shows.”
