The Dave Matthews Band and Tracy Chapman are the latest major acts to announce local dates. The Matthews Band is part of WBCN's "X-Mas Rave" that features shows at seven venues on Dec. 5 to benefit Stop Handgun Violence, Friends of Shannon, Tay Sachs and the Margaret Fuller House.

The WBCN lineup that night, starting with the Orpheum -- Dave Matthews Band and Jewel; Avalon -- Buffalo Tom and Goo Goo Dolls; the Paradise -- Toadies, Supersuckers and CIV; Mama Kin Music Hall -- 311, Everclear, Gene and Spacehog; Middle East Downstairs -- Janet LaValley, Eve's Plum, Fledgling; Middle East Upstairs -- the Dambuilders, 7 Mary 3; and T.T. the Bear's -- Gigolo Aunts, Deluxx Folk Implosion, God Lives Underwater.

Tickets for all shows go on sale tomorrow.

Chapman, the former Harvard Square folkie who went on to Grammy fame, is at Sanders Theater Nov. 27. Tix on sale Monday.
