From News Release:

BIRMINGHAM, AL – The 25th annual Schaeffer Eye Center Crawfish Boil, presented by Bud Light and NBC13HD will again be the hottest festival ticket in Birmingham featuring Alice in Chains, Goo Goo Dolls, Train, Akon, B-52s , Seether, Theory of a Deadman, Fuel and hot new stars Jay Sean and Jason Derulo, said Gary Weinberger of Red Mountain Entertainment, whose company produces the annual event. The Schaeffer Eye Center Crawfish Boil is set for Friday, April 30 and Saturday, May 1 outdoors at the BJCC.
In addition to the music, the Boil will once again serve up hot plates of more than 25,000 pounds of crawfish delivered fresh from Louisiana. Doors will open at 4 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday.

“We are proud of the fact that the Schaeffer Eye Center Crawfish Boil has contributed over $350,000.00 to area charities over the years,” said Dr. Jack Schaeffer, of Schaeffer Eye Center. “As not-for-profit organizations and charities find it harder and harder to identify funding for their causes, we will continue to support these organizations through our contributions. The Schaeffer Eye Center Crawfish Boil has been and will continue to be a party with a purpose.”

The event’s popular VIP area will get another boost this year with themed bars serving high-end cocktails and craft beers. Additional specialty food items will be available for purchase. VIP tickets will be $60 per day, a 20% discount from 2009. Fans can enjoy the performances from all corners of the festival site with the return of large LED stage screens viewable day or night, and the 87-foot Coca-Cola Ferris Wheel, which will once again provide a free bird’s eye view for patrons.

The Schaeffer Eye Center Crawfish Boil will also continue its intense recycling program, in an effort to reduce the 5,000 bottles, 23,000 cups and 39,000 cans that become waste from the festival each year.

Advance tickets are only $20 per day and $35 for a weekend pass. VIP tickets, which include free crawfish, private restrooms and beverage stations and a private, raised viewing deck are $60 per day. Tickets can be purchased beginning Friday, March 26 at 10am at http://www.Ticketmaster.com, at all Ticketmaster locations, by calling 1-800-745-3000.

The Schaeffer Eye Center Crawfish Boil is sponsored by Bud Light, NBC13 HD, Coca-Cola, Virginia College, Culinard, America’s First Federal Credit Union, liveupscalebham.com, Papa John’s, Aero Heating & Air, Heil HVAC Products, Sheraton Birmingham, Marines, Big Communications, Black & White and Zeekee Interactive.
