Last Night's Parties

Concert ReviewSeptember 19, 2014Guest of a Guest

Where: Soho

Other details: Last night Expedia and Citi launched their two new credit cards that offer extra rewards for users. The event took place at the chic Soho event space 214 Lafayette, where 4 floors were decorated in detail to celebrate the event. Guests approached the door to two men dressed as Queen's Guard officers at the entryway, before making their way up to the second floor which was designed to look like a luxury hotel in Bora Bora. On the third floor, wine and cocktails were served as chefs prepared intricate small bites in the open kitchen.

Goo Goo Dolls frontman Johnny Rzeznik performed 3 songs for the crowd, and between songs answered a few questions about travel. He mentioned that song-writing is inspired by travel because he's always in an entirely new and unfamiliar place, and when he's in New York the Soho Grand is one of the places he likes to go. Following the performance, the hosts opened up the 5th floor, where they created an open market featuring fresh produce, flowers and wine. Guests were given a tote bag, which also featured a Goo Goo Dolls vinyl record, and they could fill it up with as much as they wanted on the beautiful rooftop. This immediately drew a large crowd of people, hoping to get their grocery shopping done for the week, but funnily enough the flowers were the first to go. The new Expedia+ Voyager and Expedia+ card offer benefits to frequent flyers, particularly with bonus points and hotel upgrades.
