We've been waiting for more names to drop for the 2011 Tampa Bay Rays Summer Concert Series — man cannot live on Darius Rucker alone, you know. But today we received word of the second postgame concert performer for 2011, and we got it from an unexpected source: The Goo Goo Dolls. The '90s alt-rockers announced a handful of summer tour dates Thursday, and one of them is Aug. 6 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. Hmmm. That's a Saturday, and according to their schedule, the Rays play the Oakland Athletics on Aug. 6 at Tropicana Field. There's no news about the show on the Rays' website, but Johnny Rzeznik has never given us reason to doubt him in the past, so we have no choice but to take his word for it. Tickets are on sale for the game, which starts at 7:10 p.m. As always, postgame concerts are free with a ticket.
