Partial Proceeds Go Towards Griffith Park Recovery Fund
According to Warner Bros., the ever-so popular Goo Goo Dolls will team up with Nederlander Concerts on September 16 in Los Angeles to raise money that will benefit the Griffith Park Recovery Fund.

Alex Hodges, the Chief Operating Officer of Nederlander Concerts, stated that "the restoration of Griffith Park is extremely important to us as well as the City of Los Angeles and we are very fortunate to have the first ever GPRF (Griffith Park Recovery Fund) concert headlined by superstar rock band The Goo Goo Dolls." Hodges said, "This will be the first of a series of concerts allowing the community to give back to the city and restore the beauty of Griffith Park."

The Goo Goo Dolls, John Rzeznik reciprocated with a reply to Hodges statement by saying "We are honored to headline such an important concert and kick off this concert series at The Greek Theatre."

Griffith Park an enormous public park at the end of the Santa Monica Mountains has been devastated with fires burning nearly 800 acres of it's 4200 acres this past May. The GPRF was created by the Greek Theatre Advisory Committee that had been part of the Department of Recreation and Parks for the City of Los Angeles. The fund was specifically developed to help replace and replenish all the natural vegetation that was lost during the fires. Griffith Park is one of the largest urban parks in North America and is the second largest park in the California area.

The Goo Goo Dolls who began in 1986 have great hits such as "Iris", "Slide", and "Before It's Too Late", which debuts in this months blockbuster "Transformers" has recently released a gold certificate album "Let Love In". They were recently given the honor of being one of the "Most Top 10 Hits at Hot AC Radio in History", with 12 consecutive hits in that area.

Councilman Tom LeBonge stated that "when the Goo Goo Dolls take the stage, we'll be there wildly applauding as we will for any and all bands and individuals who want to help restore the greatest urban park in the country."

Tickets to attend the concert are $45.00 each person and can be purchased at Nederlander.com. If you would like to learn more about the amazing Griffith Park, point your mouse to LAParks.com.
