The Goo Goo Dolls are currently out on the road in support of its new album, "Dizzy Up the Girl," which has been entrenched in Billboard's Top 20 Albums Chart since its release two months ago.
The Dolls will be taking a break from headlining its own tour to open a few shows for the Rolling Stones in March of next year, and the band reminisced with the MTV Radio Network about its past stints as a supporting act.

"We wanna go out and play on our own," frontman Johnny Rzeznik said, "because when you're an opening band, people throw things at you. I don't mind when somebody who loves my band throws a shoe at me, y'know, because it's with love."

"We were never able to fill 3,000 seat halls ourselves," added bassist Robby Takac, "and now we can, so it's like, why don't we go do that for a while."

The Goo Goo Dolls, who are also in consideration for an opening spot on Kiss' tour, will play the Ogden Theater in Denver on Tuesday night. Dates the Goos will open for the Stones:
