Last summer, the Goo Goo Dolls teamed with Matchbox Twenty for a successful co-headlining tour.  This summer, they're joining forces with Daughtry for a similar jaunt.

Plain White T's, performing acoustically, will be the opening act for the tour, which gets underway in Wallingford, CT on June 12 and is right now scheduled to wrap up August 23 in Vermont, though more dates are promised.  Tickets for most shows go on sale March 22.

In a statement, Chris Daughtry says, "We are huge fans of the Goo Goo Dolls and have wanted to tour with them for a long time now. Everyone will see more than two great bands on stage. They're going to get an incredible show every night and have a summer to remember."

"We are excited to finally be teaming up with Daughtry," adds Goo Goo Dolls frontman Johnny Rzeznik. "Not only are we big fans of Chris, but we think this is going to be a huge party for the fans of both our bands. The combination of the two will make for an awesome summer night of great American rock music."

Daughtry is touring behind their current album, Baptized, while the Goos are supporting their current disc, Magnetic.

Prior to the summer tour, the Goo Goo Dolls are hitting the road in April for an intimate acoustic trek called the Otis Midnight Sessions tour.  That run will go from April 7 through April 27.
