ONE of the most popular rock bands of the 1990s have extended their November UK tour to include a show in Liverpool’s O2 Academy.

It will be the Goo Goo Dolls’ first visit since their sold-out tour in July 2008 and follows the release of their Tim Palmer produced ninth studio album, Something For the Rest of Us.

The album is the follow up to 2006’s Let Love In, which marked the Goo Goo Dolls’ 20th anniversary as a band. The album spawned several Top 10 singles, including Better Days, Stay With You and the title track, which gave them their 12th top 10 hit.

Their 13th, Before It’s Too Late appeared on the Transformers soundtrack.

Kicking off in Newcastle, the band’s 11 tour dates will see them head to Manchester’s Academy on Friday, November 12, and Liverpool’s O2 on Saturday, November 20, before closing off at London’s HMV Forum on Sunday, November 21.

Doors open 7pm. and ticketsŠ are £23.50. For full tour dates and tickets, visit www.gigsandtours.com or call 0844 811 0051.
